OOTN & Bold Red Lip

Hello, readers of mine. A few people asked me if I would do a night time make up look and show you what I wear and how I dress/style an outfit for a night out.

I chose to go for a black dress with a mesh front panel and some studs. Typical me, love the studs and love black. So because my outfits tend to be pretty dark and plain I love bringing them to life with a bright lip. For this particular one I chose a Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer in Big Bang, a very vibrant bright red colour which seems to last so long. I've mentioned this lip product before and I love it. If I'm going for a bright lip I also tend to go for a light coloured eye and in this case chose MAC naked lunch as a base all over the lid, and then applied MAC mystery to the crease and corners to create a brown smokey look. I tend to wear this eye look a lot but on a night out I tend to add a pair of lashes. These were a pair of the new Revlon lashes which have just been released and I believe they were 101. These were so easy to apply, I use tweezers and they stayed on all night! For my hair, I just straightened it, added some back comb spray, back combed my fringe and turned it into a 1950's style quiff. I wear my fringe like this when its grown out and need it cutting, so this was pretty simple.

My black dress was from the Cameo Rose range at New Look and cost £24.99, this was the first time I've worn it and found it quite flattering for my shape. I paired this with a pair of forever 21 high heels and some black 40 denier tights considering the weather was quite cold. I also wore my world famous Primark black studded clutch bag, which I take every where and love dearly.

Let me know what you think about these types of posts and whether you would be inter, ested in a few more outfit posts.

Essie, Dainty Doll, Rimmel & Discount; Fragrance Direct

Hello, members of the beauty world! I know I haven't done a Haul post for a couple of weeks now, and thought that I would share with you my goodies that I ordered from an online store Fragrance Direct some of you may be aware of this store and know that they sell branded products from high street to sometimes high end for discounted prices.

This was my first time buying from these as I normally like to buy my makeup as I see it, to know that its legit and everything's ok. However, I have seen a couple bloggers recently buy from this store including Leanne Woodfull and thought why not!

I have had my eye on an Essie nail polish for a while called 'Cascade Cool' but I still refuse to pay around £8 for a nail varnish, especially when I have plenty in a similar colour. However, I managed to get my hands on this online for £1.99. Something i thought was an extreme bargain. I then spotted a colour called 'Delicacy' this is a beautiful iridescent pearly white colour, looks very milky and would look fantastic in spring/summer with an accent nail. Again this polish was only £1.99, so i managed to get 2 for half the price of 1! I actually had to stop myself from buying every colour they had online, but since this order arrived I may have made another cheeky purchase!! If you fancy having a look at these Essie polishes then you can check them out here.

Dainty Doll Blush - 002 My Girl. The Dainty Doll brand, was a brand set up by Nicola Roberts for all of those with pale skin! Amen to that sisters! Seen as though I am a fellow pale person and fit the whole stereotype, I thought that I would give this collection a shot! So I dived right in and found a Blush called 'My Girl' all of the products have such cute names and just fit to the idea of the brand. This Blush should of retailed at £13.50 and I managed to snap it up for £1.99 Oh My! How cheap, what was even better was that if the colour didn't suit my skin then i don't mind handing it on for that price to a friend!

on to the lips...

Rimmel Lasting Finish - 006 Pink Blush. My ever so favorable lipstick which has stop being sold in both boots and superdrug near me, due to the new lines. I love this colour and when I saw it for £0.99 I just had to buy not one but 2! Bargain.
- 086 Sugar Plum, was a colour which also caught my eye when i re-purchased my pink blush lipstick and i thought, oooh that seems very me why not give it a go and for the price, again if I don't like it im not that fussed.

href="http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/maybelline/maybelline-colour-sensational-lipstick/invt/0032751" target="_blank">Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick - 080 Cherry Pop. I have plenty of these lipsticks and find them to be so faithfull to my makeup collection, so the only one I didn't posses on the list was Cherry Pop. I couldn't think why not considering I love Cherry, so I picked one up for £1.99.

Have you ever bought from this website/ have any opinions? Or know any websites similar?

Let me know, I love new things

Elegant Touch Matte Nails

I am one for a set of Acrylics normally but lately they've been ruining my nails and I thought i'd give them a rest. However, this weekend well tonight actually I'm going on a night out and thought I'd jazz up my nails with a vibrant neon pink and found these gorgeous beauties hanging around in Boots in the reduction section.
£8.99 reduced to £2.99 thank you very much.

So I didn't have high expectations for these, but thought they would at least last from the Thursday night when I put them on till Sunday morning. 3 Days is not really high expectations. These came with nail glue and a gloss top coat, to turn them shiny.
Ok so these lasted a total of 12 hours! Friday morning 2 snapped off in my sleep! Ridiculous.

They looked good whilst they lasted, I did attempt to glue them back on and they just refused to stick but I thought that I would do a post and share my opinions and see if anybody else had tried these?

I am so glad i did not buy these at full price as I would probably be highly annoyed!!

Have you tried these? What do you think?

Mac Haul

“The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy." - Yves Saint Laurent

Hello readers, yet again I've been at another Mac stand! Lord help me get though this addiction. Although on this event I was not the one paying, great thanks to my amazing other half for treating me that day.

So to start off with I have been dying to get my hands on some Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation, and finally got round to being colour matched. For those of you who are Interested I am the lightest shade Mac do which is NC15 almost like a porcelain doll I am! I've heard so much about this foundation and thought hey ho, why not give it a shot. I've used it a couple of times now and really like the matte coverage, it's quite different from the normal every day dewy skin type of looks I go for, but I think it feels quite fresh and different. Overall, really like this foundation especially because its spf15 and the shade is the exact match!
For those of you who don't know this product retails from around £20.50 and if its your first time then you will probably want the pump too which is round £3.

Next thing my darling other half bought me was a eye kohl in the shade Teddy, now I have again wanted this for a while and it has been sitting and waiting rather patiently on my wish list along with the shade Coffee. Unsure which one too get I took the plunge and went for the sparkly bronze colour 'Teddy' I'm quite glad I did actually as I prefer some sparkle around my eyes, and could easily pick up a drugstore brown eyeliner for a fraction of the price. This one retails for around £14 and is definitely worth every penny, well to me it is.

Last but not least (couldn't be too greedy and had to let him spend his money on manly things) I chose an eye shadow called Star Violet. I hadn't actually seen this shade before and intentionally went in to purchase Cranberry but this little baby was sitting side by side on the stand with it, and made my mouth fling open. I love purple, I love pink toned purple, I love sparkle, I love iridescent glitter and I love this eyeshadow. It is basically me summed up in a shadow, it's the most gorgeous colour to create a purple toned smokey eye, and looks great blended in with naked lunch. I have worn this pretty much every day since I got it and I am wildly obsessed if you can't tell already. I chose the pan version of this so that I could put it into my palette and not have to mess around depotting and this shadow retails for around £10 out of the pot.

So this was my little Mac haul, and I am we'll and safely on a no spending April from now on!

What's your guilty pleasure? Something you can't live without doing? Let me know in the comments section and don't forget once I hit 100 followers there will of course be a Mac giveaway.

Lots of love

Washing Real Technique brushes and others

Monday :( well at least it is in the part of the world that im in.
So everybody has that monday feeling, don't want to go back to work/school? Don't want to get up early and just generally can not be bothered with anything. Im having that feeling right now and have done for every monday for as long as I can remember. So i thought, what could possibly cheer me up or make me feel any better on a monday? Nothing I hear you say but something I saw recently online is that using clean brushes can actually make you feel better?
Who comes up with that rubbish I thought, but hesitant to give it a go I tried this last week Sunday 30th April  I sat down at night and washed most of my used brushes and waited till monday to give it a go.

Ok so I know it probably didn't cheer me up as much as I hoped but the whole point of this rammble is that freshly washed brushes always make you feel better, who wants to be using grubby germ catchers to apply their makeup on their beautiful face. I know I don't considering I have pretty good skin I don't want to be all clogged and spotty because of something I could of helped so I washed the brushes. I usually wash them every 14 days but I thought why not do them once a week?

To wash my brushes I use Mac Brush Cleanser most of the time but on the times I want a deep clean I use Baby Shampoo to keep the bristles soft and to deeply wash the brushes, and then sometimes I will use a treatment conditioner just to keep them looking fresh and feeling new.

Just thought I'd do a little post and show you, if you have any questions then feel free to leave them below or contact me.

Lots of Love

Holiday Gifts: Ted Baker & Mac

Hello readers of my little blog. My parents recently took a vacation for 2 weeks and brought me back some presents. Whenever they go away they bring me a little something back. This time they went to Cape Verde and picked my presents up in Duty Free knowing that there wouldn't be much over there.

So the first thing I got was a Mac lipstick in the shade Russian Red. My mum knows me oh so too well and knows I'm addicted to a good red lipstick. So this one definitely fits into place in my lipstick collection. This gorgeous colour is a matte finish, something I don't normally go for but this one isn't too dry and a lipgloss always give some moisture to the lips. This retails for £14 in Mac.

The final thing they got me was something I have wanted for absolutely ages but just thought I already had far too many makeup bags to purchase this one. I got a black and pink Ted Baker Makeup bag. This is the perfect size to fit all my 'higher' end products such as Mac, Benefit and YSL. I like to separate my everyday face products from my luxury products which I enjoy indulging in every now and then. There was no price tag on this bag but if I'm right I think these retail between £22-25 little pricey for something to carry around my makeup in. But I love love love this!

Thanks to my mum & dad for these presents, and thanks to all of you for staying with my blog & reading my posts.

Love Sophie
