Tom Ford: Extreme Mascara Review

Hi guys and dolls, I thought that I would do a review on one of my new mascara finds for 2014. This mascara was from Selfridges and is by Tom Ford it retails for £34 and I thought I would share with you my thoughts on the mascara...

Atfirst glance the packaging is rather swanky, and one which I like. The detailing of the TF on the top of the mascara is something which I love within Tom Ford products. The brown marble effect packaging with the gold detailing again is something which is astetically pleasing to the eye, packaging thumbs up.

Opening the mascara, the wand is something which I consider to be make or break. The wand is a full bristle brush, and is my favourite type of wand for creating volume, length and drama. The mascara itself is of a wet consistency not too dry but not to wet that it leaves marks when you blink. All in all I love the formula of this mascara and the dark blackest black shade that really makes my lashes black! I love this mascara, and it was definitely a good find of mine.

The only thing that puts me off repurchasing this mascara once it is used up is the price, coming in at £34 is a little bit steep for mascara, especially when there are so many others on the market that I want to try and are considerably little cheaper.

Thanks Tom Ford for your wonderful mascara, but no so much a thank you for the price!! Ouch!!

All I all this mascara receives a score of...

Slimming World Syn Free Chilli Recipe

Hi Guys, Welcome to 2014! I hope this year is a good one, and im kick starting the new year with a complete health kick. Each week I will be posting a recipe which I will have made during the week, something which is relatively simple to rustle up and freeze for easy meals during the week.

This week it is the slimming world Chilli Con Carne with an added twist, for those of you who are familiar with slimming world or are even members yourself this chilli is SYN FREE, and therefore means you can eat as much as you want without feeling guilty.

You will need:
- Frylight
- 400g Extra Lean Minced Beef
- 400g can of chopped tomatoes
- 1 large onion
- Tomato Puree
- 200g red kidney beans (Drained)
- 250ml Beef stock
- Chilli Powder
- Paprika
- Salt & Pepper (if you wish)

Method:
1) First of all chop your onions and place them into a pa which has been sprayed with frylight, leave them till they are soft and turning golden brown. Then add 1tsp of paprika, and 1 tsp of chilli powder, stir them together and start to input the minced beef.

2) Stir the minced beef until it starts to brown, then add your 250ml beef stock (i use 2 beef stock cubes and water), add the chopped tomatoes and 1tbsp of tomato puree and stir until binded together. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes until the remaining water has been binded and the chilli is quite thick.

3) Then drain the kidney beans, and wash lightly. Add the kidney beans to the mixture and stir for 5 minutes. Add any salt and pepper and extra spices until the chilli is to your liking. Personally mine tastes fine with the spices added which have been mentioned in the recipe and has a little kick.

You can then eat your chilli till your heart is content, and freeze the rest once it has chilled. This chilli can be freezed for upto 1 month.

Yankee Candle: Christmas Cookie

Hi guys, I know I haven't been posting so much lately but I have been super busy preparing myself for Christmas, and sorting out university work. However, I do have a post on my favourite festive candle...

My other half surprised me the other day with a new Yankee Candle, I've been poorly all week and he thought It would be a nice surprise, and it most certainly was.
I love the scent of this candle, although at the moment due to my illness I can not smell it and therefore I haven't burnt it yet to waste the smell.

But I can tell you if your like sweet smelling candles such as vanilla cupcake, or butter cream then you will love this candle! It smells so festive and sweet and oh so christmassy, I love the scent and can not wait to burn it.

The candle's come in different sizes and forms, I got a medium Jar candle which you can see here...

Christmas Cookie Medium Jar £16.99

They come in tarts, tumblers, big jars, small jars, car air fresheners... etc. So check them out, I know Clintons cards in the UK sell them and you can also get them online direct from Yankee Candle, or on other sites for a little bit cheaper. As the pricing of these candles is a tad bit extravagant. For this medium sized candle the prices was £16.99

Anyway, I just thought I would share and recommend my festive candle.
I will be back posting regularly in the new year, (2-3 times a week) but there will still be a post a week leading up to the new year.

Thanks for reading, Speak to you all soon

Tis' The Season To Be Berry...

Hi Guys, I am so excited that its getting even closer to Christmas oh I can't wait. I thought I would share with you all my go to December Christmas look, one which I haven't really been changing since November, apart from a couple eye shadow changes and some different lipsticks so here goes... I am also going to review a couple of the products I use in this post as well so keep your eyes wide open for them!

To start with I moisturised my skin with my Simples rich day moisturiser and left this to soak in for a couple of minutes. I then applied my L'Oreal Skin Perfection serum over the top, I like to use this as a primer, and it also helps to reduce the redness in my skin 2 in 1 I suppose. I got this product a couple of months ago and wanted to try and test it before I reviewed. So I purchased this probably at the beginning of October and have used it everyday and I mean everyday. I can notice the difference in my skin, the redness is reduced the texture of my skin is very soft and my complexion is pretty much perfect, one product which did not break me out.
After my L'Oreal serum I moved straight on to foundation, not giving the product time to sink in is a good thing sometimes. My foundation of choice at the moment is Mac Studio Fix Fluid NC15 a product you have all heard me rave on about for far too long, but a foundation with perfect coverage for the winter. I blend this onto my face with my Real Techniques expert face brush and then leave to dry for a little while.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection | Mac Studio Fix Fluid

After my cream based products I then powdered my face with my Rimmel stay matte powder, and moved swiftly onto my brows. I feel like I can't apply my eye shadow if my brows aren't done. So I use my Rimmel eyebrow pencil in dark brown to draw in my shape and outline and then use MAC Mystery eye shadow to fill in my eyebrows to darken them, as my brows are white.

Top Right (Mac Mystery) | Rimmel Dark Brown Brow Pencil

After the brows were done I moved onto my eyes, I've been using cream shadows as bases during winter so my eyes aren't too drying. I have been loving the seventeen metallic shades, especially the metallic bronze coloured one, sorry the names rubbed off. I then use my naked 2 palette but switch up the colours i use to blend from the outer corner into the crease. Ive been really liking 'Blackout' blended into the gold shadow base for a real smoky eye! After my shadows are done, I then tend to add some mascara, and if its a night time occasion some false lashes.

My favourite mascara at the moment is Soap and Glory Thick and Fast, I really like the wand on this mascara, the thick bristles are perfect for my lashes at the moment, to give them the definition and volume they need throughout the day.

On to the cheeks, I've been loving my Nars blusher in Orgasm, so conventional and well loved by all, it is one product which I can honestly not live without in the make up world. I like to team this with Mac's Lightscapade mineralized skin finish, and a bit of Mac bronzer in Matte Bronze. If you wanted to swap these for high street products I recommend, Topshops Crescent Moon highlighter, Sleek Rose Gold Blush and any matte bronzer to contour and define those cheek bones.

I tend to switch up my lip colour quite a lot but in the photo I am wearing from the Gothic Collection at Collection shade number 2 Revenge, with a nude models lip pencil underneath. That tends to be the choice or my Mac Rebel, Mac Up the Amp or L'Oreal 332.

If you have any question then please leave them below, thanks for stopping by and reading.

Christmas Gift Guide: For Her

Hey guys and dolls, as the festive season approaches us I thought I would share with you my gift guide. I've been doing quite a bit of shopping lately, as i'm an early bird and like to be organised and prepared. I thought I would do this guide for those of you who are a little bit un sure on what to buy, I will be doing a 'gift guide for him' soon so keep your eyes open, but for the mean time this is for her.

Ted Baker Make Up Bag | Ted Baker Purse | Loverdose Tattoo Perfume
Naked Palette | Benefit Brow Zings

This will include presents you can buy from your mum, sister, auntie, niece, friend, girlfriend anybody who is female basically! So to stop me from rambling anymore I shall start, so here is my Christmas gift guide part 1.

Every girl loves perfume or make up or something that generally makes them feel good about themselves. So I opted for 2 make up products, 1 perfume, a make up bag and a purse.

Now to start with my sisters just about to turn 18 and is loving being involved with using makeup at the moment, however she's been using a lot of mine. Which I don't mind just I thought I would like to get her some of her own. So she had been eyeing up my naked 2 palette, and then when we went shopping she opted for this one. For those of you who don't know, Naked Palettes are by urban decay and they have 12 eye shadows all neutral toned but with shimmer and sparkle, they suit everyone's tone and would make a great gift for a female member because everyone loves a bit of sparkle.

The brow zings, is tailored to some people, not everyone draws on their eyebrows, but for someone you know loves their brows this is perfect. It comes in 3 shades so be careful when picking the right shade, but it is the perfect brow kit to create those HD brows.

Perfume is something nearly every woman loves and uses on a regular basis. I chose this particular one because Its for my mum, She loves the original Loverdose and every time the advert comes on the tv for this she ooohs and ahhhs about how she needs it. Need I mention the smell is out of this world. I love a strong scented perfume and this is one for those people. This would be great for someone of a younger age but also a little bit older too depending on their taste.

Now the makeup bag would be something for a younger female. Again this was for my sister, she goes through makeup bags like their going out of fashion there a bit of a fad. But I thought I would get one that can fit just enough make up in for a daily basis, It can be wiped clean and is very handy to fit into a bag.

The matching purse to the make up bag is one for any age. This one is actually my mums, but I know that I want one and I'm 19 and my grandma wants one and she's 72 so this one is one for everyone. Its a little bit pricey but Its long lasting and its a purse, its in and out of a bag and on show everyday.

Keep an eye out for my male Christmas gift guide which shall be very soon. Let me know what your buying for friends and family this Christmas below.

Love

Time to Pucker Up

Hi guys and dolls, I thought I would do a post about my favourite makeup product. LIPSTICK! for those of you who hadn't guessed by the title of this post. Anyway, seeing its autumn/fall I thought I would do a post of my favourite lipsticks which I have been going to on a daily basis to wear and make my look autumnal! If you want to see a full Autumnal makeup look then make sure you check out my previous post which is HERE!!

Lets get crack-a-lackin'...

From Left to Right Top to Bottom; Order of Lipsticks

1. Collection Gothic Glam - Revenge Shade 3 I have spoke about my love for this lipstick before. I love the deep red wine colour this lipstick gives, It makes any makeup look , look autumnal and seasonal. The great thing I love about this lipstick is that normally with deep colours they tend to stain your lips a little, but you can simply wipe this off and there is no trace. The lasting stay on this lipstick is really good as well to say that I only paid £2 for it. If you want to see a more in depth post about this lipstick then you can here.

2. YSL Rouge Vulupte Shine Lipstick (Shade 7) I bought this lipstick on kind of a whim for a present for my mum as she loves wearing browny neutral shades but ended up liking it so much I bought myself one! This lipstick is more on the glossy shine side, something I dont usually tend to go for. But I love the finish and feel of this lipstick, Again its really moisturising something you need to be going for in the winter to keep your lips soft and smooth, and the colour is gorgeous, browny nude. The gloss makes your lips look super healthy and really appealing. This is by far one of my faves and I will be giving the range another go, maybe a bright pinky colour. You can purchase this lipstick here.

3. Calvin Klein - Fusion This lipstick isn't actually mine, but its my sisters. I have stolen it for this season, As I love the deep fuscia pink colour pay off from this lipstick. This lipstick reminds me of a cross between Macs Rebel and Mac's up the amp, 2 lipsticks which I own and have worn before. Although, This one the texture is a little bit softer on the lips and more moisturising. The staying power of this is really good and long lasting as well. I like to team this lip with a gold soft smoky eye, or a taupe coloured eye.

4. Mac - Russian Red All time cult classic colour, the only thing im not too keen on is the matte finish, but I can deal with that to have nice looking red lips. This is pretty much the classic red lip lipstick. The undertones work really well with almost every skin type and this really makes my teeth stand out and look white, thanks to the blue undertones. I wear this colour mainly for going out shopping as such, and love to team this with a high top knot bun, thick black liner and a smokey eye yet again! Super autumnal.

5. Maybelline Colour Sensational - Mystic Mauve Shade 250 This is a 'neutral pink' lipstick which I generally wear all year round. But this is great in autumn and winter, when you can't really be bothered to put on a full face of makeup, but need something to stop your lips looking so pale and dry. This lipstick is super moisturising, I find all of the lipsticks from this range to be moisturising and I love wearing this lipstick just on its own with some mascara. Its a your lips but better kind of pink and helps to add colour when your feeling all winter and pale.

6. Maybelline Baby Lips - Cherry OK so I know this isn't really a lipstick, but like the one above I love this for just moisturising my lips but giving me a slight hint of colour, so I don't look really washed out. This baby lips is one of my favourite ones, I love the scent and the amount of colour It pays off, Its not too much, Just right.
